Winne was kept in a cage made of a shoebox and chicken wire. She was force-fed with a tube to try to fix her missing plumage.

Lonely and Winne are now happy residents of Parrots First. They immediately took to each other and became fast friends.

Sponsor Lonely & Winne

Lonely was kept in an outdoor cage for 20 years with a backyard breeder. She was eventually kept alone as she would not produce babies.

About Lonely and Winne

Lonely is a green wing hybrid macaw and was kept in an outdoor cage for over 20 years by a backyard breeder. She was eventually kept alone in a dark enclosure since she would no longer produce babies.

Winne is a blue and gold macaw and was kept in a cage made from a shoebox and chicken wire. She was force-fed with a tube to try to fix her missing plumage. We are not sure of her age since she was kept by a breeder that past away, but she’s at least 30 years old.

Why Sponsor Lonely and Winne?

Lonely and Winne can’t be adopted and will require care for the rest of their lives. At Parrots First they will live out their days together in a healthy and happy environment.

Lonely and Winne’s Favorite Things

Each other! And they also love chewing on wood and nuts.
