This is Lola’s environment now, which is an entire bird room full of other Macaw’s to interact with and things to climb and chew on. Lola’s learning how to enjoy all of it.

Lola before

This is Lola in her previous home. This was her primary living space in the apartment and completely inadequate for a parrot.

About Lola

Lola was a breeder for many years. She was given to a man when she was no longer producing babies. He cared about her but did not have a clue as to how to keep a macaw. She was in an apartment in a corner with barriers around her so she would not chew anything in the apartment. He realized that she needed more and contacted Parrots First. Lola is very shy and had pulled out most of her feathers before coming to us.

Why Sponsor Lola?

Lola will not be available for adoption, so Parrots First needs funds for food as well as special perches, because since Lola never learned to climb or fly, she’s more likely to fall. She is slowly learning to climb and interact with other birds in an open environment.

Lola’s Favorite Things

She’s loving being fed fresh vegetables and mixed nuts.
